Chapter 13-16 Questions

Chapter 13 “The more often he feels without acting, the less he will be able to ever act, and, in the long run, the less he will be able to feel." Share a time in your life when this has been true. To me this is saying to procrastinate basically a man who wanted to do something and talked about doing them, but never put any action behind his words so he never accomplishes anything. There are a couple times where I have talked the talk, but not walked the walk. For example I was planning to get my license in the beginning of summer, and I kept saying I'm going to get all of my hours. Then the end of summer came and here I am still license-less... Don't worry though I am working on those hours now. Chapter 14 ".. to be free from any bias in his own favour that he can rejoice in his own talents as frankly and gratefully as in his neighbor's talents." How can this be applied to your life? Give a specific example. I think this is saying to be happy for other people just as you would be happy and excited for yourself. So I'll admit at times I can be selfish and I feel bad because when people tell me they got something. Then I feel they start bragging and I can tend to like that person a little less, but I would like to change that because I want to be happy for them and I'm glad they feel comfortable that they can share their happiness with me too. So I'm trying to be genuinely happy for people and their accomplishments because they do deserve it. Chapter 15 “We want a whole race perpetually in pursuit of the rainbow’s end, never honest, nor kind, nor happy now....” What does this mean to you? To me this means that sometimes in life it can become a routine and we lose sight of what's in store for us in the future. So we just live life losing sight of what really matters and we become selfish people that just live life with no meaning. Chapter 16 Describe your ideal Church Well in my church I got to, it's really small. I feel a church shouldn't be too big because then you don't really get personal with other people and you don't have real fellowship. Of course, we can still have worship time. Also I feel when the church is smaller the Pastor can really connect with his people and that church is really a family in Christ.
