Chapters 5-8 Questions
Chapter 5
I am kind of confused by the wording because he sounds so negative, but I think he is trying to say it is better to die in a nursing home because, "it would betray the man of his true conditions."
Chapter 7
When someone mentions the devil, I picture he would be like a very deceiving "angel" considering he once was one. I also think though at times that the devil can look very scary and just evil. Reading this chapter though he mentions "The fact that "devils" are
predominantly comic figures in the modern imagination will help you." It makes me think that I need to be more careful cause these "devils" are living even in the modern day things that we watch on tv or listen too. It literally can be anywhere, so it just makes me think and evaluate myself.
Chapter 8
That line from the book says to me that humans today are long gone in just being tempted to do wrong. It seems that's all we do is sin, which is what Satan wants us to do. It also seems that man doesn't understand anymore and he just goes with the flow in my opinion.
