Philosophy on Objectionable Elements

According to Dictionary.com, Personal Philosophy is the rational investigation of the truths and principles of being, knowledge, or conduct. My personal philosophy is the “Just Do It” by Nike. It is kind of silly, but I am the type of person where I let a lot of amazing opportunities pass me by because I let fears get in the way of my goals. I have a lot of fears and still to this day kind of let the fear get the best of me. Last year it was different though, I actually started applying that philosophy and  when I was asked to be a candidate to be a class officer, I was like, “What if I can’t be a leader or handle the pressures of being a leader? Or what if I don’t even win?” I just thought that the biggest risk is not taking the risk, and I never was going to know until I tried. So I did! I just did it and it turned out to be one of the greatest decisions of my life! I also applied that philosophy with this class! I never thought I would be able to handle an honors class, but I did because I wanted to see if I could do it. This philosophy can be applied to both academics to even daily life decisions, (and yes even to exercising, lol). It can be applied to just about everything, but I wouldn’t apply it to all situations because for example, gambling. If I have some money saved for college but I use it for a couple games and I say, “Just Do It.” I could end up broke, so I wouldn’t necessarily apply it to all situations. Of, course for me I apply this to a lot of aspects of my life and I use this philosophy responsibly. I just tend to miss out amazing opportunities because I am always scared of what can happen. So before I never really took the risk, but since applying that philosophy it allowed for me to break out of my shell and has helped me in life.
