Personally, writing in my perspective is enjoyable
at times if it can be a creative assignment or simply just about a topic I
like. What discourages me about becoming a writer is that others wouldn’t like
the topics I choose to discuss and also due to my poor grammar. I haven’t written
any thank you letters, but I have written birthday cards saying how much I
appreciate that person has done for me and how thankful I am to have them in my
life. I probably do send close to 100 text in a day, but usually nothing over
that amount. I do every day or every other day write in this prayer journal I
have, I prefer not to express deep feelings over the internet. I can be honest
when I say I am not a writer. I just don’t feel I earn that title because I
don’t have a deep passion to write all day, and I don’t surround myself in that
kind of atmosphere unlike a more serious writer would. I believe it is
important to know how to write, but not necessarily be a writer, because there
are some who they are meant to be writers, others who grow to like it, and then
there are people who just flat out don’t like the idea of writing in general.
If everyone was a writer it wouldn’t be looked as a gift or no one would think
highly of you. Being a writer is a gift. A person who can be able to make the
reader feel emotion while giving it great detail and has been given a great
amount of work put into the novel or whatever is an accomplishment. It is earned;
otherwise everyone could be considered writers.
I
like to read, but I don’t necessarily love it. Really it all depends on the
book and topic. Sometimes I find a book that is not normally in mind, but I
read it anyway just to get a different taste of subjects and such. The last
book I have read was “Divergent” by Veronica Roth. I definitely prefer hard
copy books than the online eBooks. I’m not sure, but there is something awesome
being able to hold the book and call it yours. My all-time favorite children’s
book was “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” by Laura Numeroff. There are actually a
few books that I have read and it really inspired me. I believe one of them was
“Where the Red Fern Grows” but that was a long time ago. The second one would
be “One-handed Catch” I think. These were books that I read when I was younger,
but still stick out in my mind. Last, but not least of course the Bible. I do
my best to do devotions every day and each day it touches me and helps me
strive for better. I believe it is important to read, but then again being a
reader isn’t for everyone. Others have to have in motion picture form and
that’s fine. To me depending on the book I like to read the book first and then
watch the movie, but anyways being a reader is important. It can influence your
life and puts things in different perspectives.
Like I said the Bible, “Where the Red Fern Grows”, and “One-handed
Catch” are all the books that still stand out to me today. I plan to always
read whenever I can, but of course make time for God’s Word.
Technology
is truly amazing these days, but I have never been a techie person so I find it
hard to keep up at times. I am not sure
what hardrive I have. I was never a techie person. I am definitely not a full-on
gamer, but I guess you can say during the summer time I am. I never really was
addicted to the Facebook thing, so I never created one. I do on the other hand
have Instagram and Twitter. At times I can get paranoid that someone will steal
my identity or hack into my accounts. Seriously though it can happen to anyone,
so I would rather be aware then just throw personal things on my accounts.
Learning
has been and will always be a part of my life. I don’t like it at times, but it
is very important. Growing up, not really eager to learn at times, it still has
been very beneficial to me. I find it that I learn faster when I can visually
learn it. I defiantly do not like book reports or projects, but under some
circumstances they are necessary because it can let other people know how
others interpreted the topic. I do not like test and quizzes and nothing can
change my mind. I wanted to take this course just to challenge myself a little
more. I never really took honors anything. So taking this class I guess is
letting me see what I am capable of. Of course I hope to learn some new things
as well.
